ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

MAY 1, 2008

7:00 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula B. Keefe, Richard Gorden,

                  and Mark Mazur

1.  The Board reviewed and then approved the issuance of a supplemental tax on new construction for fiscal year 2008.

2. The Board read an approval notice from the State giving us authority under

M.G.L. Chapter 58 Section 8 for the abatement of a property that was assessed

in error.  The Board then granted abatements for the fiscal years 2005, 2006 and

2007 for parcel #119-43-4 under the authority of M.G.L. Chapter 58, Section 8.

3. The Board granted a fiscal year 2008 abatement under the authority of M.G.L.

Chapter 59, Section 72A for parcel 102-88.  The parcel is now owned by the

Town of Sharon.

4. The Board read the FY2007 Appellate Tax Board decision for parcel 38-12.

The case was decided in the Town’s favor.

5. The Board was given copies of a study/report done by Joel Tran of Summit

Appraisal Services reviewing the value of Sharon Commons and Brickstone.

6. The Board reviewed a comparison between the figures Mr. Tran and the

figures the Board is using in its new growth estimates for fiscal year 2009.

7. The Board read a note from a FY2008 clause 18 applicant who had been

denied.

8. The Board  considered a clause 18 application but decided against taking

any action until some questions were answered.
